Job Title: Backend Developer Intern

Work Location: Gurgaon

Zalon, our B2B technology platform dedicated to the salon and beauty industry, currently serves over 3500 salons nationwide. We provide comprehensive support ranging from inventory procurement to salon management software, empowering salons across India.

We are seeking a motivated and talented Backend Developer Intern to join our development team.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Node.js, Express.js, Golang and MongoDB to build robust and scalable server-side applications. This internship provides the opportunity to work on real-world projects, implement RESTful APIs, and gain practical knowledge in backend development.

Responsibilities:
 Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js, Express.js and Golang.
 Design and implement RESTful APIs to interact with frontend applications and databases.
 Work with MongoDB (and MySQL) for data storage, retrieval, and management.
 Optimize application performance and scalability.
 Collaborate with frontend developers and designers to deliver a seamless full-stack experience.
 Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
 Test and debug server-side code to ensure application stability and performance.
 Use Git versioning for code collaboration and management.
 Stay updated with the latest industry trends in backend development and technologies.
 Follow Software engineering best practices to develop the next generation of applications for our customers.
 Document the architecture, design decisions, business logic into in-house wiki.
Requirements:
 Proficiency in Node.js, Express.js and Golang.
 Experience with MongoDB, MySQL and working with databases.
 Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
 Experience with Git version control (branching, merging, pull requests).
 Basic knowledge of working in a Linux/Unix environment.
 Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 Eagerness to learn and apply new backend technologies.
 Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
 BYOD (Bring your own device) during internship
Nice to Have:
 Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
 Experience with JWT authentication and OAuth.
