Job Description :
The role of a design engineer is an opportunity for a self-motivated, fast paced individual who enjoys working in a creative environment.
The role of the individual is to work with the design team at BMG-6IN. Work on projects, from developing the concepts to the different stages of design.
Prepare assembly drawings and part drawings. Support design changes that come up during discussion with the customer or during the course of execution of the project.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Evaluate the requirement and work on the concept.
Design the equipment once the concept is agreed upon. Make 3D models of the equipment/machine/line etc…
Participate in “Design Approval Process” with the customer along with designers of BMG-6IN.
Make part/component drawings in 3D and fabrication drawings using 3D package (Autodesk Inventor 2020)
Prepare Bill of Material to support manufacturing.
Participate in design reviews.
Support in making changes in design if required during the course of execution of the project.
Skills and Qualification :
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. – (Experience in Mechatronix will be an added advantage)
3 – 8 years of experience in machine building industry
Good knowledge of 3D package (Autodesk Inventor 2023).
Experience in designing Assembly lines, Individual machines/stations, fixture design, Special purpose machines (SPM), Industrial Automation etc..
Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, preparing circuits and selection of elements will be a plus.
Good understanding of manufacturing process and selection of material with knowledge on material treatment.
Have knowledge on engineering design calculation. Applying GD&T for the developed drawings
Good communication skills and interact with cross functional team like manufacturing/purchase, assembly department etc..
A “can-do” attitude.
